Jason Giambi slammed a homerun at Yankee Stadium as the New York (AL) Yankees
came back dramatically to top the Oakland A's by the score of 4 to 3.

New York (AL) had the game winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Alex Rodriguez keyed the rally when
he reached on an error. Giambi stepped up next and he lined a single.
Richie Sexson then doubled. Cody Ransom stepped in and he was walked
intentionally to load the bases. Hideki Matsui was next to the plate, but
was promptly struck out. Jorge Posada kept the inning going and doubled.
Overall New York (AL) out-hit Oakland 7 to 4.

Jose Veras(1-0) went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Huston
Street(1-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk
in 1/3 of an inning.

'That was exciting!,' Giambi said. 'I would have paid money to watch this
one.'
