Ervin Santana(3-2) and Sean Gallagher(0-1) treated the Oakland fans to a fine
pitching duel at McAfee Coliseum. The Los Angeles(AL) Angels eventually
emerged as victors over the Oakland A's by the score of 2 to 1.

Los Angeles(AL) tallied 2 runs in the top of the 2nd inning. Vladimir
Guerrero started the inning off right when he hit a single. Torii Hunter was
next and he drew a walk. Garret Anderson then tripled. Gary Matthews Jr was
the next batter, but he struck out. That early scoring was all that Santana
needed. Oakland had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Santana got help from Francisco Rodriguez who was credited with his 8th save.
