Casey Kotchman had 5 hits and 3 RBI and Jered Weaver* took a no-hitter into
the 6th inning as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels defeated the Seattle Mariners 10
to 1 at Angels Stadium.

Kotchman provided much of the offense. He lined a one-base hit in the 1st
inning, lofted a three-run bomb (his 5th of the season) in the 2nd inning,
doubled in the 4th inning, slapped a single in the 5th inning and lined a
base-hit in the 7th inning. Los Angeles(AL) had 17 hits for the afternoon.

Weaver*(2-1) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. The
right-handed Weaver* lost his no-hit bid when Willie Bloomquist singled with
nobody out in the 6th inning. The loss was charged to Carlos Silva(1-3).

Craig Lombardi lamented, 'Weaver* was really aggressive today. He kept coming
after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one after
another - like so many bowling pins!'
