Ian Kennedy tossed a fine 3 hitter and Chris Young collected 2 extra-base hits
and had 3 RBI as the Arizona team bested the Washington Nationals 8 to 1 at
Chase Field.

Arizona took the lead for keeps in the 4th inning when they tallied 3 runs on
4 hits. The highlight belonged to Gerardo Parra who brought the crowd to
their feet when he doubled which was good for two runs. Arizona totaled 10
hits on the afternoon.

Kennedy(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. The loss was
charged to Jordan Zimmermann(0-1). He allowed 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and
1/3 innings.

'He had his 'A' game today,' Craig Lombardi said of Kennedy. 'Very impressive
performance.'
