In a good matchup it was the Washington Nationals 5, the Philadelphia Phillies
2 in 10 innings at Citizens Bank Park.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Washington was victorious in
the 10th inning. Jonny Gomes opened up the inning nicely when he drew a
walk. Wilson Ramos stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk. After
an out was recorded, Roger Bernadina came to bat and launched a three-run
homer. Ian Desmond was the next batter, but he struck out. Ryan Zimmerman
came to the plate and doubled. Michael Morse dug into the batters box next,
but he struck out. Both teams ended up with 6 hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Ryan Mattheus(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Drew Storen preserved the game for Mattheus, recording his his 3rd.
Antonio Bastardo(0-2) took the loss in relief. He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks
in 1 inning.
