Livan Hernandez had an impressive outing as the Washington Nationals beat the
New York (NL) Mets by a score of 6 to 1.

Washington took the lead for good in the top of the 2nd inning scoring 2
runners on 3 hits. That early run support was all that Hernandez(2-1)
required. Washington totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.

Chris Capuano(0-4) was tagged with the loss. Despite losing, he struckout 8
Washington batters in 5 innings. 'He was moving it around and spotting it
very well.' Craig Lombardi said. Hernandez pitched a great game. He deserves
all the credit.'
