The San Francisco Giants put 6 runs on the scoreboard in the 9th inning and
cruised to a 9 to 2 victory over the Washington Nationals at Nationals
Park.

Washington was unable to claim the lead after San Francisco went ahead in the
2nd inning with 3 runs using 4 hits. After two were out Eli Whiteside got
things rolling when he laced a single. Jonathan Sanchez stepped into the
batter's box and he slapped a one-base hit. Andres Torres then drew a walk
to load the bases. Jeff Keppinger followed and he laced a base-knock.
Carlos Beltran came to the plate and singled. That early run support was
enough for Sanchez(1-0) and San Francisco. San Francisco had 11 hits for the
game and Washington had 6.

The losing pitcher was Chien-Ming Wang(0-1). He gave up 7 hits and 4 walks in
7 innings.
