Left fielder J.D. Martinez had 2 base hits as the Houston Astros bested the
Kansas City Royals 4 to 3 at Minute Maid Park.

Kansas City was unable to claim the lead after Houston went ahead in the
bottom of the 2nd inning when they came up with 2 runs on 2 hits. The
critical plate appearance was by Chris Johnson who made the crowd happy when
he popped a two-run clout over the fence. Kansas City threatened in the 9th
but their rally came up short.

The win went to Lucas Harrell(2-2) who allowed 1 run in 5 innings. Harrell was
helped out by Wilton Lopez who recorded his 8th save. Bruce Chen(0-4) took
the loss.

Lee Michaels was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
