The Kansas City Royals nipped the Detroit Tigers in 11 innings 7 to 6 at
Comerica Park in a hard fought contest.
 
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings.  Kansas City won the
hard fought contest in the 11th inning.  After two outs Billy Butler singled.
Salvador Perez stepped into the batter's box and he slapped a base-hit.
Mike Moustakas then smacked a single.  The game was a wild affair with the
lead changing hands 5 times.  
 
Everett Teaford(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 4 and 1/3
innings. Greg Holland got the save, his 3rd.  Brayan Villarreal(0-2) took the
loss in relief.  He allowed 2 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.  
 
Wth the win Kansas City now has a record of 11-20.  With the loss, Detroit has
a record of 6-4 lately, 15-8 overall.
