Jeff Suppan went 8 strong innings at Busch Stadium as the St. Louis Cardinals
pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Arizona club by the count of 2 to
1.

St. Louis came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 2 runs. Larry
Walker led off and started the attack as he reached on an error. Albert
Pujols stepped up to the plate and he blasted a two-run home run (his 1st of
the season) giving St. Louis the victory and sending the 47,402 home-town
fans home happy. St. Louis finished with just 3 hits in the victory.

Julian Tavarez(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Brandon
Webb(2-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered only 2 runs and 3 hits in 8
innings.

'We just wouldn't give up,' Pujols said. 'Much of the credit goes to our fans
- they were with us the whole way.'
