Derek Lowe mowed down 12 Houston batters and catcher Dioner Navarro had 2 base
hits as the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers defeated the Houston Astros by a score of
3 to 1 at Minute Maid Field.

Lowe(3-2) simply dominated Houston. He didn't allow much, just 4 hits and no
walks in 8 innings improving his ERA from 3.71 to 3.00. Los Angeles(NL)
managed 7 in their victory.

Yhency Brazoban earned his 9th save. Roger Clemens(3-1) was the loser. He
surrendered 2 runs and 5 hits in 8 innings. Lowe was pleased with his
performance. He noted, 'I had good command of all my pitches. Just as
important, my location was right on.'
