Jason Marquis had a strong outing at Busch Stadium as the St. Louis Cardinals
beat the New York (NL) Mets by the count of 1 to 0.

St. Louis set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring one runner
using 2 hits. That early scoring was all that Marquis(1-1) needed. New York
(NL) had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.

Marquis got help from Jason Isringhausen who earned his 3rd save. Tom
Glavine(1-1) was the loser. He allowed just 4 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings.
