Geoff Geary shut St. Louis down as the Houston Astros topped the St. Louis
Cardinals by a score of 4 to 2 at Busch Stadium.
Brandon Backe(2-1) was solid if not spectacular. He was reached for 6 hits
and 4 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings. Houston totaled 8 hits on the afternoon.
Geary recorded the save, his 1st. Todd Wellemeyer(1-2) was the losing
pitcher. Houston continued their winnings ways improving their record to a
division leading 10-4. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With the loss,
the St. Louis ballclub's record is 9-8.
