At Petco Park the San Diego Padres put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 5th
inning and easily handled the Washington Nationals by the score of 7 to
3.

San Diego scored 4 runs in the 5th inning when they had 3 base hits. The key
offensive moment was provided by Adrian Gonzalez who brought a roar from the
partisan Petco Park fans when he belted a three-run homer (his 5th of the
season). San Diego finished with 11 hits while Washington ended up with 8.

The victory was credited to Cha Seung Baek(2-1) who went 5 innings, allowing 1
run. Tim Redding(0-3) was tagged with the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 10 hits and 2 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.
