Catcher Kelly Shoppach slammed a homerun and Cliff Lee delivered 9 solid
innings at Progressive Field as the Cleveland Indians won a thriller over the
Kansas City Royals in, 3 to 2.

The game was won by Cleveland with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After an out was recorded, Jamey Carroll lined a base-hit. Grady Sizemore
next to the plate and he drew a walk. Shoppach then banged out a single to
load the bases. Shin-Soo Choo came up and he hit a one-base hit giving
Cleveland the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Cleveland
totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

Lee(3-1) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Ramon Ramirez(0-1)
absorbed the loss in relief. 'When Lee is on like that it is a tough game to
play, no doubt about it,' Lee Michaels said. 'He always pitches well against
us.'
