Erik Bedard pitched 7 strong innings as the Seattle Mariners defeated the
Minnesota Twins 2 to 0 at SAFECO Field.

Seattle took the lead for keeps in the 5th inning scoring a single run using 2
hits. After an out was recorded, Bryan Lahair lashed a single. Jeremy Reed
was next and he lined a single. Scott Baker then had one get away for a wild
pitch. Ichiro Suzuki was the next batter, but he struck out. Jose Lopez was
a strikeout victim, unable to help out. J.J. Putz was perfect in relief and
got the save, his 2nd.

Bedard(1-1) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Baker(0-2) was
hit with the loss. He surrendered 2 runs and 7 hits in 8 innings.
