Right fielder Ichiro Suzuki had 2 base hits at Metrodome where the Seattle
Mariners beat the Minnesota Twins in 12 innings by the score of 4 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine. Seattle won the game in the 12th inning.
Jeremy Reed got things going when he slapped a base-hit. Miguel Cairo
stepped up to the plate and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Jeff Clement then
lined a single. Clement took second on the throw. Wladimir Balentien
followed and he doubled. Suzuki came to the plate and laced a one-base hit.
Suzuki took second on the throw. Jose Lopez kept the inning going and
delivered a single. Raul Ibanez came next and he banged out a single.
Yuniesky Betancourt then stroked a base-hit to load the bases. Adrian Beltre
got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Seattle
had 13 hits overall, while Minnesota had 8.

Cesar Jimenez(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing
no runs. Matt Guerrier(0-3) took the loss in relief. He allowed 3 runs and 7
hits in 1 inning.
