Aubrey Huff blasted a grand slam as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New
York (AL) Yankees by the score of 13 to 8 at Camden Yards.

It was a good day for Baltimore thanks to Huff. He hit a single which scored
a run in the 1st inning and cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun (his
8th of the season) in the 2nd inning. New York (AL) was not lacking for run
support as they scored in 5 separate innings, yet victory eluded them as they
seemed to forget that pitching is also needed to win ballgames.

Dennis Sarfate(1-1) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Sarfate got
relief help from George Sherrill who gained credit for his 5th save. Sidney
Ponson(1-1) was given the loss. He was unable to control the Baltimore
offense and allowed 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings.

The win by Baltimore was very good news as they had been 2-8 of late. Now
their seasonal record improves to 6-10. With the loss, New York (AL) has a
record of 6-4 lately, 6-5 overall.
