Shortstop Mike Aviles smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Comerica Park as the
Kansas City Royals beat the Detroit Tigers in 13 innings by the count of 7 to
6.

The score was tied at 6 after nine. Kansas City won the game in the 13th
inning. Aviles delivered a base-hit. Freddy Dolsi then picked Aviles off
first base. David Dejesus then ripped a solo home run (his 5th of the
season). After an out was recorded, Alex Gordon came up and he lined a
one-base hit. Jose Guillen was the next batter, but he struck out. Kansas
City kept the scorekeepers busy in the 4th inning with 3 runs on 3 hits. The
game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.

The victory went to Joakim Soria(2-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Dolsi(1-2) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2 and 2/3 innings
giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.
