Garret Anderson had 4 hits and Ervin Santana completed the game without help
from the bullpen at Yankee Stadium as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels beat the New
York (AL) Yankees by the count of 9 to 1.

Los Angeles(AL) set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring 3 runs on
4 hits. Chone Figgins led off the inning for Los Angeles(AL) when he lined a
one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Mark Teixeira stepped in and he
smashed a two-run homer (his 2nd of the season). One out later, Torii Hunter
stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Mike Napoli was up next and he
doubled. The early run support proved sufficient for Santana(5-3) and Los
Angeles(AL). That was all the run support Santana required. Los Angeles(AL)
totaled 16 hits on the afternoon.

Sidney Ponson(1-2) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7
runs in 3 innings. The Los Angeles(AL) ballclub's record now stands at
17-14. With this loss, New York (AL) has a 7-3 record of late, 11-7 overall.
