Joe Mauer had 2 base hits and Boof Bonser came through with a solid 7 and one
third innings as the Minnesota Twins beat the Toronto Bluejays in 16 innings
by a score of 5 to 1.

The score was tied at 1 after nine. Minnesota won the hard fought contest in
the 16th inning. The big moment was provided by Denard Span who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he cleared the bases with a Grand Slam
homerun (his 1st of the season). Minnesota rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon.

The win went to Joe Nathan(2-1) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Scott
Downs(1-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs and 2 hits
in 1 and 1/3 innings.
