28,811 fans were treated to a fine game at Dodger Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Atlanta Braves won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

Both teams were tied at 5 runs apiece after nine innings. Atlanta ended up
winning it in the 10th inning. Chipper Jones drew a walk. Bobby Cox then
called for a steal which was successful. Brooks Conrad got his chance to
keep things going, but he went down on strikes. Brian McCann stepped in and
he was walked intentionally. Nate McLouth stepped into the box and hit a
deep fly. Omar Infante kept the rally going and reached on an error. Melky
Cabrera was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Los Angeles(NL)
had 10 hits in the game while Atlanta had 7, but Atlanta had the more timely
hits.

The win was credited to Billy Wagner(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing 1 run.
Hong-Chih Kuo(0-1) took the loss in relief. He was the victim of a defensive
lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
