Craig Stammen had a strong outing as the Washington Nationals bested the
Cincinnati Reds 1 to 0 at Nationals Park.

The winning run, and the only run, was scored by Washington in the 2nd inning.
That early scoring held up. Matt Capps pitched a perfect ninth and was
credited with his 5th save.

Stammen(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 7 innings. Johnny
Cueto(0-1) was given the loss. He allowed just 1 run and 3 hits in 7
innings.
