Center fielder Jon Jay had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals
beat the Miami Marlins in 11 innings by a score of 6 to 5.

The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. St. Louis won it in the
11th inning. After an out was recorded, Jay delivered a base-hit. Yadier
Molina stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Matt Holliday then stroked a
single resulting in a mighty exciting win for St. Louis and the 43,456 home
town fans in attendance. For the game St. Louis out-hit Miami 15 to 11.

Jason Motte(1-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Wade Leblanc(1-1)
absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits
and 2 walks.
