Cleveland brought 4 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they came up with 4 base hits. The big moment was provided by Mike Aviles who came through for the home fans when he brought the hometown folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer. Baltimore threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short. Scott Kazmir(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing 4 runs. Kazmir got help from Joe Smith who was credited with his 2nd save. Chris Tillman(0-1) suffered the loss. 'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said Craig Lombardi after the game. 'We lost this game today because we didn't follow the instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
