The Seattle Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers by a score of 8 to 5 at SAFECO
Field.

The Seattle fans enjoyed the offense provided by Kendrys Morales. He doubled
bringing home two baserunners in the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over
the fence in the 2nd inning and slapped a base-hit in the 7th inning. The
Texas batters went down meekly in the 9th.

The victory went to Felix Hernandez(1-0) who went 7 and 2/3 innings, allowing
5 runs. Hernandez was helped out by Danny Farquhar who recorded his 1st save.
Alexi Ogando(0-1) was the loser. He allowed 6 hits and 4 walks in 3
innings.
