Rodriguez was unconscious out there. While Houston pitching was serving softballs up there for him to hit, the Houston fans were serving up some hardball barbs when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning, clubbed a two-run home run in the 6th inning and doubled which brought home a run in the 9th inning. New York (AL) kept the scorekeepers busy in the 6th inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits and the 9th inning which saw them score 3 runs on 3 hits. New York (AL) kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings. Kuroda(2-0) was the winner allowing 2 runs for the game. Bud Norris(0-1) was charged with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4 innings. 'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Kuroda. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
