Left fielder Mike Carp hit a homerun and had 5 RBI and Jon Lester whiffed 13
batters as the Boston Redsox beat the Minnesota Twins by a score of 9 to
2.
 
Carp had a big day at the plate.  He doubled scoring a run in the 2nd inning,
tripled which brought home a run in the 3rd inning and lofted a three-run
bomb in the 8th inning.  Boston finished with 16 hits in the victory.
 
Lester(2-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Scott
Diamond(0-2) took the loss.  'He came out with good stuff,' Andy Virostek
said about Lester. 'He threw the ball good from the first pitch on.'
