Right fielder Larry Walker went yard and had 4 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals
beat the Atlanta Braves by a score of 5 to 1.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Walker. He doubled in the 1st inning, banged out a single
scoring a run in the 5th inning and smacked a three-run homer (his 1st of the
season) in the 7th inning. St. Louis had 13 hits overall, while Atlanta had
7.

The win went to Jason Marquis(4-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 innings. Tim
Hudson(1-1) absorbed the loss. He pitched 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 9 hits
and no walks.
