Miguel Cabrera slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI at Dolphins Stadium where the
Florida Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 8 to 5.

Cabrera enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He doubled plating a run in the 1st
inning, ripped a base-knock in the 2nd inning and lofted a three-run bomb
(his 5th of the season) in the 4th inning. Florida had 14 hits for the
afternoon while Washington had 10.

Todd Jones(2-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Ryan
Drese(2-3) suffered the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 7 runs in
3 and 1/3 innings.

With this win, Florida has a 8-8 record. They have been 6-4 lately. With
this loss, Washington has a 5-5 record of late, 11-17, worst in the division
overall.
