Ramon Ortiz completed the game without help from the bullpen and catcher
Javier Valentin connected with a 'big fly' and had 5 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds defeated the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 10 to 4 at Busch
Stadium.

Valentin had a big day at the plate. He lofted a three-run bomb (his 3rd of
the season) in the 8th inning and stroked a one-base hit bringing in two
baserunners in the 9th inning. Cincinnati totaled 17 on the afternoon.

Ortiz(2-0) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Jason Marquis(4-3). He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 5 and 1/3 innings.
