Joe Mauer had 3 base hits as the Minnesota Twins bested the Baltimore Orioles
in 12 innings 2 to 1 at Target Field.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Minnesota won it in
the 12th inning. After two were out Pedro Florimon reached on an error.
Florimon swiped second base. Brian Dozier then drew a walk. Mauer came up
and he laced a base-knock making Minnesota the victors to the delight of the
home town faithful. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the
6th inning.

Anthony Swarzak(1-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Troy
Patton(0-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He was the victim of a
defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.
