Center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Boston Redsox
defeated the Detroit Tigers in 12 innings 6 to 5 at Fenway Park.
 
The score was tied at 5 after nine.  Boston won the game in the 12th inning.
After an out was recorded, Dustin Pedroia laced a base-hit.  After another
out, Jose Iglesias came to the plate and drew a walk.  Ellsbury then drew a
walk to load the bases.  Will Middlebrooks was up next and he drew a walk
giving Boston the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy.  Boston
rapped out 12 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The victory was credited to Craig Breslow(1-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Rick Porcello(0-1) was the loser in relief.  He allowed 1
run and 3 hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.
