In a dramatic ending at Rangers Ballpark the Texas Rangers won in their last
at-bat beating the Oakland A's by the count of 4 to 1.
 
Texas erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  A.J. Pierzynski opened up the inning nicely when he
doubled.  Lance Berkman followed and he drew a walk.  Nelson Cruz then
smacked a three-run homer giving Texas the win as 44,218 happy fans joyfully
celebrated.  Overall Texas out-hit Oakland 10 to 6.  
 
Joe Nathan(1-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jesse Chavez(0-1)
was charged with the loss in relief.  He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk in 1
inning.
