At Tropicana Field, the Tampa Bay fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Matt
Garza(1-0) finally bested his Detroit opposite, Edwin Jackson(0-1), by the
score of 2 to 1.

Garza gave Tampa Bay a solid outing. He went 7 innings and surrended up 4
hits and 5 walks. Detroit went down without a fight in the 9th.

Dan Wheeler got the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Jackson. He
