Nelson Cruz knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Kevin Millwood allowed Chris
Centorcelli to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Texas Rangers
defeated the Kansas City Royals 9 to 1 at Kauffman Stadium.

Cruz provided the offensive punch. He cracked a solo homerun in the 1st
inning, doubled in the 5th inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 7th
inning. Texas banged out 12 hits on the afternoon.

Millwood(1-0) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Gil Meche(0-1)
took the loss. 'The ball was jumping off my bat' Cruz said. 'I didn't do
anything differently, it's the same way I always approach the game.'
