At Comerica Park, the Detroit faithful were treated to an intriguing pitcher's
duel. Zack Greinke(1-0) finally bested his Detroit counterpart, Justin
Verlander(0-1), by the score of 3 to 1.

Kansas City scored all of the necessary runs in the 1st inning scoring 3
runners on 3 hits. That early scoring held up. Neither team managed to
score after the 4th inning.

Joakim Soria was credited with his 1st save. Verlander took the loss. He
surrendered 6 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings.
