Scott Baker came through with a solid 9 innings and Michael Cuddyer slammed a
homerun and scored 3 times as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Seattle
Mariners by the score of 6 to 1 at SAFECO Field.

In the 2nd inning Minnesota scored 2 runs. That was all the runs Baker(1-0)
needed. Minnesota managed 10 hits in their victory.

Jarrod Washburn(0-1) was the loser. Chris Couch was obviously impressed with
the pitching of Baker, 'That guy made us look a little silly out there this
afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything was working for
him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of his system.'
