Jon Lester racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts at Fenway Park where
the Boston Redsox beat the Oakland A's 6 to 1.

Lester(1-0) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Oakland batters. He didn't allow much, just 6 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings.
Boston had 11 hits for the afternoon.

Trevor Cahill(0-1) suffered the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 7 hits in 6
innings. Lee Michaels was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain
but did you see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to
start calling the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
