With the crowd on their collective feet, screaming at the top of their lungs,
Pittsburgh Pirates rallied to top Chicago (NL) Cubs by the score of 5 to
4.

Pittsburgh had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Josh Harrison jump-started
the rally as he drew a walk. Jose Tabata was next and he drew a walk. Neil
Walker then laced a one-base hit to load the bases. Andrew McCutchen came up
and he doubled. After another out, Chris Snyder stepped in and he drew a
walk to load the bases. Kerry Wood then let one slip out of his hand for a
wild pitch. Despite losing, Chicago (NL) out-hit Pittsburgh 12 to 9.

Daniel McCutchen(2-0) was the winner allowing no runs in 3 innings. Wood(1-2)
was tagged with the loss in relief. McCutchen and Tabata were really
whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As
John Thomas noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's
attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys
- it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
