In a dramatic ending the Florida Marlins staged a comeback and held on to win
over the Washington Nationals by the count of 5 to 2.

Florida won the game with a rally in the 9th inning as they scored 4 runs on 4
base hits. The critical plate appearance was by Mike Jacobs who quieted the
crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Washington had 10 hits in the
game while Florida had 6, but Florida had the more timely hits.

Kevin Gregg(3-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Jason Bergmann(0-3) ended up with the loss. He allowed just 4 runs and 5
hits in 8 innings.

'The only way this one could have been better', said Gregg, 'was if we had
played it at home.'
