Brandon Backe whitewashed San Diego on 3 hits and shortstop Miguel Tejada had
2 base hits at Minute Maid Park as the Houston Astros beat the San Diego

Backe(3-1) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the San Diego offense. He
allowed only 3 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.94.
Houston banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.

Cha Seung Baek(2-3) was charged with the loss. He was pinned with the loss
