Ricky Nolasco carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Florida Marlins
beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 8 to 1.

Brett Carroll had a great day at the plate. He tripled plating three runs in
the 3rd inning, blasted a two-run home run in the 5th inning and lined a
single resulting in a run in the 7th inning. Florida had 12 hits for the
afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Nolasco(1-1) who allowed 1 run for the game. The
right-handed Nolasco lost his no-hit bid when Carlos Ruiz doubled with one
out in the 6th inning. Cole Hamels(2-1) was hit with the loss. He
surrendered 8 hits and 1 walk in 6 innings.

'Nolasco just dominated us' losing pitcher Hamels said. 'Hopefully we can get
to him the next time around'
