The Philadelphia Phillies nipped the floundering Washington Nationals 3 to 2
at Citizen's Bank Park in a hard fought contest.

Washington fell behind quickly as the Philadelphia offense came through in the
first inning plating an isolated run using 2 hits. Washington had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

J.A. Happ(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Chad Durbin
got the save, his 1st. Jordan Zimmermann(0-3) took the loss. He pitched 6
innings and surrendered 7 hits and 4 walks.
