Ted Lilly tossed a fine 2 hitter and shortstop Ryan Theriot hit one over the
fence at Wrigley Field where the Chicago (NL) Cubs beat the St. Louis
Cardinals by the score of 4 to 1.

Chicago (NL) set the tone of the game in the first inning as they scored 2
runs on 2 base hits. That was all the runs Lilly(2-1) needed. After the 4th
inning, neither team was able to score.

Kyle Lohse(0-1) suffered the loss. 'I thought it was my best performance in a
long time,' said Lilly. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my
control and composure and everything went well.'
