WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Stephen Drew robbed Rickie Weeks of a base hit.

Yovani Gallardo blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and he dominated striking out
12 Arizona batters as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona club by a score
of 11 to 5.

Gallardo was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He ripped a solo home run in the 3rd
inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 9th inning.
Milwaukee managed 8 hits in their victory.

The victory was credited to Gallardo(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 5
runs. Doug Davis(0-3) was given the loss. He allowed 6 runs and 2 hits in 1
and 2/3 innings.

Gallardo was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good command of
all my pitches. Just as important, my location was right on.'
