Matt Cain reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and center fielder Angel Pagan
had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Chase Field as the San Francisco Giants beat the
Arizona ballclub by the count of 12 to 5.

Cain(5-2) delivered a fine performance for San Francisco. He surrendered 5
hits and 4 walks in 9 innings. San Francisco bats were very productive in
the 2nd inning when they had 6 runs on 4 hits. San Francisco totaled 20 hits
on the afternoon.

The losing pitcher was Trevor Cahill(3-3). He was touched for 14 hits and 3
walks in 4 innings. Cain didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking
up. When told he had 10 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew
that I had a decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say,
that's pretty good, isn't it?'
