At Citizens Bank Park, the Philadelphia fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Gio Gonzalez(5-1) finally bested his Philadelphia opposite, Tyler
Cloyd(0-1), by the score of 1 to 0.

Washington scored the deciding run in the 8th inning. After two were out
Gonzalez blasted a solo shot. Philadelphia had a chance in the 9th but they
came up short.

Gonzalez got relief help from Tyler Clippard who gained credit for his 10th
save. Cloyd absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 innings allowing only 4 hits
and no walks.
