The Boston Redsox nipped the Kansas City Royals 3 to 2 at Kauffman Stadium in
a hard fought contest.

Boston won the game with a run in the 8th inning. Dustin Pedroia reached on an
error. David Ortiz stepped up to the plate and he doubled. Will
Middlebrooks dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Adrian
Gonzalez came up and he laced a base-knock. Scott Podsednik struck out,
unable to help the rally. Kansas City had a chance to come back in the 9th
but they came up short.

The victory went to Alfredo Aceves(2-0) who went 1/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Aceves got relief help from Scott Atchison who gained credit for his
2nd save. Kelvin Herrera(0-2) took the loss in relief. He was pinned with
the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 1 inning of work.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Lee Michaels
said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have
to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
