The Minnesota Twins cruised to a 6 to 1 victory over the Kansas City Royals at
Target Field.
 
Minnesota tallied 5 runs in the 5th inning with the help of 3 hits.  The key
at-bat was by Josh Willingham who made the crowd come alive when he rifled a
three-run blast.  Both teams totaled 9 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Cole Devries(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Bruce Chen(0-3) was the losing pitcher.  He was pinned with
the loss despite not allowing an earned run in his 4 and 2/3 innings of work.
